Our Mission
Help us record species and environmental factors on Binghamton Campuses and Properties!
This April, join the annual Binghamton University (BU) EcoBlitz to observe species and environmental conditions on Binghamton Campus and associated properties!
Come and join us as we learn more about local biodiversity and what lives around us at Binghamton University! This event is open to the public, including members of the local community and associated with the university (students, faculty, staff, alumni, family, friends).
We will use iNaturalist to document our observations and keep track of who has the most observations.

This event is hosted by the BU Natural Global Environmental Change Center(NATCHANGE).

What is an EcoBlitz?

Similar to a Bioblitz, an EcoBlitz is a community-science effort to make as many environmental observations (e.g., record species present, measure temperature or water quality) within a designated location and time period as possible.

The EcoBlitz is a great way for the public to engage in scientific activities and connect to the environment. We can also generate useful data for research and conservation! The EcoBlitz brings together naturalists, scientists, students, and any members of the public with a passion for nature to enjoy the great outdoors and have fun!
