One activity is going to be creating a dirt cup, which is going to be both a delicious snack and representative of the local soil ecology. Another activity is going to be an insect identification station with a dissecting microscope so that kids can get a closer look at the critters surrounding us!

Table: Three Sisters Sovereignty Garden

The Three Sisters Sovereignty Garden was founded in May 2022 as a true Land Acknowledgement in collaboration with Binghamton University and the Onondaga Nation Farm, bringing Indigenous seeds back to ancestral lands of the Haudenosaunee that the university now inhabits. This project, in the spirit of the Two-Row Wampum, symbolizes the shared responsibility and commitment between the Haudenosaunee Confederacy and Binghamton University to create space for Indigenous people, knowledge, and pedagogy in higher education. Our group will display a few varieties of Indigenous seeds and corn braids gathered from the Three Sisters Sovereignty Garden last fall. There will be information on the project, and the students will discuss the garden and Indigenous seed sovereignty.
